The shoot was located in beautiful Shoreditch, chosen for its constant uproar of diversity and brick walls adorned in ever-changing street-art. Inspired by the busy nature of camouflage, we decided that a busy backdrop would create the perfect chaotic contrast.
This shoot’s initial inspiration orbited solely around the release of our new Orange Camo Co-Ord, an evolution from our original Blue Camo Co-Ord, Festival ‘19. Consisting of an Orange Camo bardot & matching Orange Camo pyjama-style trouser, this set emanates a more autumnal vibe for Festival fashion. With Halloween looming, combined with an orange obsession, we couldn’t resist. The deliberate details, an ever present element of Delta Of Phoenix garments, were as follows:
- clouds of dreamy tangerine organza for Bardot sleeves, shorted in black thread to emphasise the camouflage colourway,
- aqua knicker satin bows, to fully allow an orange glow due to the invert
- mega extra-thick sunset piping, to really twist the traditional pyjama silhouette
Both Camo Co-ords were used in the shoot, to portray our own evolving seasons, and to express our own subtle yet stark design transmutation.
This shoot was to be overloaded with bling & diamantés, truly emanating indulgent glam. After sourcing an abundance of second-hand diamanté ridden necklaces, a truly sparkling make-up-look was needed to complete our desired aesthetic. The universe, in its wonderful universe way, led us to Sarah (@freckled.rambles), a freelance MUA living in London. The looks she designed were perfect beyond our dreams, reflecting both Delta Of Phoenix as a brand and our upcoming shoot. Pop bursts of block colour eyeshadow, echoing the Camo Co-Ords respectively, with hand-applied diamanté trim suited our shoot dream wholly.
