Kawaakari Fashion Film Feb ‘20

Curated & filmed by Lindsey @lindsey_isla; & performed/choreographed by beautiful Asha @ashaeverma, Dorine @dorine_mugisha, Jade @jcxrystal & Brittney @britt_britt1208.

Creating this fashion film was an absolute dream. I was extremely lucky to have linked with Asha, and there was a truly positive vibe from the beginning. Thank you so much to these girls, we created a film full of fuck-you-girl-power. For more of their work, show some luv @_thearchetype.

Lindsey is so wonderful to work with, truly elevating initial concepts and ensuring that all angles are captured. Even from preliminary discussions, she sincerely understood the aura I’d been dreaming of, & worked to curate Delta’s vibe within a film format. If you’re ever in need of a feminist-fashion-film or freestyle-edits, show her some luv @lindsey_isla_photography.

The whole fashion film can be viewed on @delta_of_phoenix insta IGTV & Delta Of Phoenix YouTube Channel;

Below are interviews with both Brittney & Jade, revealing an insight that would otherwise be unshared.

  1. 3 words that describe how you feel whilst dancing:

- free

- exhilarated

- free

  1. Favourite ice cream flavour?

- Rum & Raisin (store bought)

- Lemon (ice cream van)

  1. A high & a low of freelance dance you don’t mind sharing?

I don't really do much freelance work so I'm not really sure, however from what I've heard from friends I'd say a high would be getting to work with different people in different places all the time on fun exciting projects, and a low would be waiting to get paid. Theres no set day every month when you paid like in a regular job where you'd get paid at the end of every month or something. Sometimes you might have to submit an invoice and then wait like up to 30 days before getting paid!

  1. 3 words that describe how you feel whilst dancing:

Alive, Happy & Inspired

  1. Name an iconic celebrated woman, & why she is so iconic to you?

A bit cliché but I would say Oprah Winfrey. I love how she has used her gifts and talents to help others in the world. Not to mention that she was also the first African-American female billionaire.

  1. Favourite ice cream flavour?

Cookies & Cream (Ben & Jerry’s)

  1. A high & a low of freelance dance you don’t mind sharing?

I work full-time outside of the dance scene so a low would be missing out on opportunities but my high would be the opportunities I do get. For example, performing with the national theatre, competing with my team at the World Of Dance finals in Los Angeles and even getting to do a little shoot with Delta Of Phoenix.
