˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ Morning Sunshine ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
Following our reveal of the most wonderful photoshoot, here is an interview with self-acceptance coach and self love advocate, Kitty Underhill. I ask her 5 questions, covering her ‘herstory’ and WHY but also her meticulously chosen offmenu menu.
All the photos below were captured by professional film photographer Oliv Hanham, in the beautifully contrasting surroundings & green brutality of Barbican, London.
Kitty wears the new Delta Of Phoenix Kitty Pink Satin Corset Top, the first design I created for the new Vulver collection. This Pink Satin Corset Top was totally inspired by kawaii barbiecore and candyfloss, which led to the creation of the princess puff sleeves. The fuchsia pink duchess satin and cerise pink organza princess puff sleeve combination is beautifully unapologetic, and Kitty looked so wonderful in the pink satin corset top that I named it after her there and then, in order to salute to that beautiful moment and memory.
Here’s a 5 QU interview with divine Kitty:
- Hi Kitty - please describe what you do and WHY you do...
- Any advice for young people dreaming of becoming creative freelance?
I would say it’s essential to have a community or other friends who are also freelancing in similar sectors to you - freelancing at the beginning can feel a bit lonely! So it’s good to reach out to others to organise work dates/hangouts. Not only does it help to feel more social but if you have a question you can bounce them off someone else and get their input - super helpful! I would also recommend making sure you have a bit of a financial safety net where possible - it may take a bit of time to start making money and you don’t want to get too stressed about whether you can make rent or pay bills. I appreciate this is a big big privilege to be able to save but if you can, do it as much as you can!
- How does it feel to wear Delta Of Phoenix garms?
Wearing Delta feels like wearing art. The pieces are so full of drama, joy and romance that you can’t help but feel stunning!
- Any advice for aspiring models?
This sounds like typical advice, but it’s key to get used to rejection. Getting rejected has no reflection on you, your worth, who you are as a person, or what you bring to the table. Sometimes you’re just not right for the job and that’s ok! I’d also recommend practising your poses in the mirror, get used to your face and body from all angles, and get creative at home! Do photoshoots with yourself and see how they turn out - it’s all about experimenting and play, not just about the hard work it requires.
- Favourite dream 3 course meal? Starter + main + dessert
This is such a hard question!! But, I’d have to go for:
Starter: Scallops in a butter sauce with chorizo
Main: Lobster linguine, ideally served within the shell of the lobster
Dessert: Chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream.
Thank you to divine Kitty Underhill for sharing her herstory & experiences ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
